Mattress care
Habits that add years
- Use a protector from day one. Liquid that reaches the inner layers cannot be removed, and it is the most common reason a mattress ends early.
- Rotate the mattress half a turn every three months or so, so pressure does not concentrate in one place.
- Air the room for a few minutes daily, and do not cover the mattress the moment you get up — the moisture needs somewhere to go.
What to avoid
- Never bend or fold the mattress; it breaks the springs and ruins the layers for good.
- Do not clean it with a lot of water. Blot the spot with a barely damp cloth and let it dry completely before use.
- Do not put it on an uneven or broken base — a bad base destroys a good mattress quickly.
Common questions about care
How often should I rotate it?
Roughly every three months. Some models are single-sided; rotate those head to foot rather than flipping them.
Can the cover be washed?
It depends on the model. If the cover unzips, follow the washing instructions supplied; otherwise spot-clean only.
A new mattress has a faint smell — is that normal?
Yes. A faint smell when the packaging is opened is normal and fades within days if the room is aired.
